The police were called to the scene of a two-car hit-and-run accident in Atlanta. On the morning of Saturday, October 10, a Chevy Cruze traveling in the northbound lanes of Interstate-285 and trying to exit the road ended up crashing into a Hyundai Sonata.
The accident took place not far from the Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive exit. There were two people in the Sonata at the time of the crash. By the time rescue crews arrived, the female driving the car had already passed away from her injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other passenger was seriously injured in the crash. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and was listed as being in critical condition. The names of the two victims have not yet been released.Â
There were two people in the Chevy Cruze as well: a male and a female. When the police arrived, there was nobody to be found. Witnesses told police that they saw the two people flee the scene on foot. The police searched for them but were not able to find them. They have not yet identified the driver or the passenger. They have also not indicated if the car was stolen at the time of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police are asking the public for their help in locating the culprits. There has been no update on the condition of the surviving victim.
